www.hgvlgvtraining.co.uk has learnt that HGV training brokers, Advantage Training Services have petitioned to go into voluntary liquidation.
According to notice number 1528573 (issue 60056) posted on the London Gazette website a creditors meeting was held on the 8th March with a view to winding up the company.
Going by these developments it would appear Advantage Training Services is shortly to be no more. In its a place a new company has been formed. The company is called Specialised Training Services. www.hgvlgvtraining.co.uk is unsure what services Specialised Training Services will provide. Whether brokering for HGV training services or moving into other training sectors has yet to be ascertained.
No new website for the company can be found. The Advantage Training Services website is still up and running with no indication to visitors that the company intends to dissolve and start up anew. There is nothing illegal about going into voluntary liquidation however creditors should be aware and kept up to date with the winding up situation.
What is a voluntary liquidation
According to Wikipedia a voluntary liquidation occurs when the members of the company resolve to voluntarily wind-up the affairs of the company and dissolve.
Voluntary liquidation begins when the company passes the resolution, and the company will generally cease to carry on business at that time (if it has not done so already). If the company is solvent, and the members have made a statutory declaration of solvency, the liquidation will proceed as a members’ voluntary winding-up.
In such case, the general meeting will appoint the liquidator(s). If not, the liquidation will proceed as a creditor’s voluntary winding-up, and a meeting of creditors will be called, to which the directors must report on the company’s affairs.
Many HGV training brokers have in recent months, gone into liquidation including Fast Track HGV, Blackwater HGV and 1st Class Trucking to name but a few.
Our opinion is to go direct to your local HGV training provider as opposed to using the services of a broker.
As soon as any more information is obtained www.hgvlgvtraining.co.uk will update this post.
